THE OPEN RACE
Scheduled start at 7:30 am at the lakes Access Rd.
Total distance of 76km.
- Complete 2 laps of the Lakes Road Circuit (anti-clockwise along the Access Rd, Champion Drive, Lake Rd, Lake View Tce, back to start) then continue for 4 laps of the Closed Road Circuit (Champion Drive, Tonkin Highway, Armadale Rd, Lake Rd, Lake View Tce, back to start).
- This event is open to all members of Cycling WA affiliated Clubs.(Bring your membership Card with you) Non members may also compete but should be able to complete the course within 2 hours 30 mins and must obtain Cycling WA Temporary Membership by contacting Open Race officials, well before the start ON THE DAY at the assembly area, who will issue you with the day license,($18 which includes your insurance),and your Race I/D
- Enter early and receive the commemorative pewter medallion (from Bladon WA ) if you are among the first 1,000 entrants for the Open / 32km.Charity Ride.
- As an officially sanctioned event in the State Series Road Racing Titles for 2008 prizes and prize money will be awarded for all standard categories including a perpetual trophy for the overall winner to be presented by our event patron Hon.Alannah MacTiernan MLA after the finish of the HANDICAP CHALLENGE AT 11.30 am. Approx.
THE JUNIOR RACE ( CYCLING WA MEMBERS ONLY)
- Scheluded start at 7.45 am on The Events Track
- Races will be held for the normal gradings over varying distances.Contact Southern Districts Cycle Club for details (HENK VOGELS 0409 380 239)
THE CHARITY RIDE
Scheduled start 9:00 am at the Lakes Access Rd
Total distance of 32km.
- Follows the same route as the Open Race Closed Road Circuit for 2 laps.(You may opt out after 1 lap if you so wish)
- Children aged 12 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Sorry, but no children under the age of 12.
- Only approved child bike seats or carriers to be used.
- All entries for the Charity Rides go in the draw for RAFFLE PRIZES These include a "Giant" Folding Bike valued at $850 from Sponsor the Public Transport Authority and a great BTE Road Bike worth $1,200 from Sponsor The Bicycle Entrepreneur
- Register early and receive the commemorative pewter medallion (from Bladon WA ) if you are among the first 1,000 entrants for the Open / 32km. charity ride.
- We will also be giving away 300 vouchers from Sponsor Perth Integrated Health Clinic for a free neuromuscular assessment across all entrants
SHORT COURSE and FAMILY RIDE
Scheduled start at 9:45 am on the Lakes Event Track
Total distance of 5km or 10km.
- Follows the Champions Lakes Event Track which will be closed to all except event participants. Complete either 1 lap of 5km or 2 laps of 10km.
- Sorry but no children under 6 years of age riding bikes.
- Only approved child bike seats or carriers may be used.
- Children aged 6 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- All entries for the Short Course and Family Ride go in the draw for RAFFLE PRIZES.
WHEELCHAIR RACE Scheduled start 9:15 a.m. at the Lakes Event Track.- Register through Wheelchair Sports Website Click Here
THE HANDICAP CHALLENGE RACESheduled Start 11.15 am.
This is a very unique event and possibly the only one of its type held anywhere in the world.Using a timed handicapped starting system competitors from Dragon Boats,Canoes,Kayaks,rowing,in line skaters,Wheelchair Racing and Cycling (incliding the Penny Farthings) will compete over the 2,000 metre course for the Perpetual Handicap Challenge Trophy. We urge everyone to stay and watch what promises to be a wonderful and facinating event.
