About Us
CASM (Citizen Advocacy South Metropolitan) is an independent community based charity organisation which aims to recognize, promote and defend the rights and interests of people with a disability in our community.
CASM gives those with a disability a helping hand, not a handout. Through our Volunteer Advocates we offer moral support and friendship to help them live their lives to their full potential.
CASM sources Volunteer Advocates who give freely of their time to act as a friend and mentor, on an individual basis, to someone with a disability. Generally these matches develop into long term friendships that last over many years. Volunteer Advocates help in all aspects of everyday life, finances, interviews, housing, security, employment etc. All the problems that we handle as part of our everyday lives but many with a disability find too difficult to overcome without individual help.
We also offer an advocacy service to anyone on a disability support pension, giving advice and referral as required.
Your participation in this event will enable CASM to engage the necessary resources to find more Volunteer Advocates and help more of the many people with a disability seeking the support and friendship of their own Citizen Advocate.
